Villa Avalon Main House - Open air dining and living

Families

With its central location and proximity to numerous clubs and restaurants, the villa is popular with groups of friends, and families with young adults, who wish to make the most of Bali’s famous nightlife and beaches. The flexibility of bedroom configuration allows privacy and independence for multiple families who can really spread out here, using not only the main four-bedroom villa but the two-bedroom and one-bedroom guesthouses too. With exciting beach bars and clubs at your doorstep, and no need to deal with the island’s infamous traffic, partying in Bali was never easier.

Children love the 15-metre pool, and can run around happily and independently in the beautiful gardens, while parents relax on sun loungers or in the poolside joglo. The team of friendly staff at Villa Kedidi will make each guest feel welcome and pampered. Having these willing attendants on-hand, gives you the flexibility and freedom to explore the area around, secure in the knowledge that your children are well taken care of (full-time babysitting incurs a small extra cost). The beach –  a three-minute walk away – is beautiful for sand-play and letting off steam (though do note that swimming is not advisable, as the sea can be rough and currents strong). Older kids gravitate towards the pool table, enjoying their own wing (away from the master bedrooms).

Quirky boutique shops selling more than the standard souvenirs dot the lanes nearby. The waves beckon surfers of all skill levels. Beachfront bars offer refreshing cocktails and sundowners, with upbeat music in the background. Do not be surprised if the crowd starts an impromptu dance party on the beach – in this part of Bali, anything is possible.

If you prefer to stay in, there’s plenty to do in the villa as well, with a range of pool toys, puzzles, books and DVDs available for your use. The villa’s central location may not be suitable for those seeking serenity and solitude.

Attractive breakfast options within stumbling-distance aside, nothing beats a hearty breakfast (or brunch for the late sleepers) cooked especially for you by your villa staff. And although the kitchen is well-equipped for you to cook up some snacks, or your very own culinary speciality, the staff will be happy to do this for you – just talk through your requirements and meal schedules with the villa manager or chef and they will take care of the rest. A greasy hangover-cure breakfast by the pool? Snacks to go with your cocktails? No problem. The chef can customise all meals to suit your tastes.

And when the excitement of exploring the immediate surroundings starts to wear off (if that’s possible), check out our Things to Do page – there’s plenty on offer further afield to keep the entire group amused throughout the holiday.

Villa Avalon, Canggu 7 bedroom luxury villa, Bali Elite Havens

Welcome to Villa Avalon – a glorious seven-bedroom haven, a stone’s throw away from Kayu Putih Beach, just north of Seminyak. If you are visiting Bali for its nightlife, the location doesn’t get better than this. With fabulous restaurants like La Laguna right outside its door and beach clubs such as Cafe del Mar a further few steps away, this is perfect for people who’d love to hear the party beats from their own swimming pool.

Three individual villas make up Villa Avalon – the iconic four-bedroom main villa, two-bedroom Avalon II, and one-bedroom Avalon III – each set in beautifully landscaped gardens complete with their own private pools. Book just one villa or all three; the flexibility of bedroom configurations gives you the choice of anything from one to seven bedrooms. The villas suit a range of travellers, from honeymooners who will love the cosy one-bedroom Avalon III, to groups of friends looking forward to party in Bali.

Award-winning Balinese architect Popo Danes curated the design, crafting contemporary interiors with an Asian twist using Indonesia’s abundant natural materials – elaborately carved sandstone walls, polished teakwood floors, paras stone sun decks, marble basins and terrazzo baths. Vast living areas and individual bedroom suites are embellished with rare antique furniture, modern classic pieces and handsome Balinese paintings and artefacts. Coffee table books on Asian design and a library of interesting fiction feed the mind, while within the extensive gardens, heritage teakwood joglos, koi-filled lotus ponds with riverstone water features, moss-covered statuary and the abundance of tropical blooms and manicured bonsais feed the soul. Just outside the boundary walls, you will find a sacred shrine, the surf beyond and some of the island’s best clubs and bars.

Feeding the body is the task of the resident chef, who happily whips up Indonesian and international meals from a suggestion menu. He is one of the ‘nothing-is-too-much-trouble’ staff, dedicated to making you feel special.

With three pools, a pool table and extensive gardens, Villa Avalon is a haven you will not wish to leave. If you do manage to tear yourself away, you will find Kayu Putih Beach just beyond the villa’s entrance and facing it, some great sunset bars. Five minutes’ stroll down the beach are W Hotel and Potato Head, and other notable Seminyak establishments are just 10 minutes further (even less by taxi). The villa’s central location with access to bars, clubs, restaurants and boutiques, makes it a hit with the holiday crowd that craves proximity to all the action.
