Villa Avalon Main House - Dining set up with view

Dining

In-villa dining is one of the great pleasures of a private villa vacation.  There’s nothing more rewarding than gathering around the dining table with family and friends to enjoy a leisurely home-cooked lunch or dinner that has been prepared without your lifting a finger.  Villa Avalon’s lovely chef takes great pride in whipping up a menu of Indonesian and international dishes using the freshest ingredients sourced from upmarket delis and local markets alike.  Guests may glance through a small suggestion menu for inspiration, or make special requests.  Balinese cooking is his specialty and he’s a dab hand at sunset barbecues too.  Just discuss your requirements for the day with him or the villa manager.

The chef will happily coordinate the purchase of all provisions on request, including wines, spirits, beers and soft drinks.  The best way to organize this is to provide the chef with a cash ‘float’ on arrival.  Receipts will be kept and referenced at the end of your stay, and a 20% handling fee with a service charge and a government tax will be applied to cover admin and transport.

Villa Avalon, Canggu 7 bedroom luxury villa, Bali Elite Havens

Welcome to Villa Avalon – a glorious seven-bedroom haven, a stone’s throw away from Kayu Putih Beach, just north of Seminyak. If you are visiting Bali for its nightlife, the location doesn’t get better than this. With fabulous restaurants like La Laguna right outside its door and beach clubs such as Cafe del Mar a further few steps away, this is perfect for people who’d love to hear the party beats from their own swimming pool.

Three individual villas make up Villa Avalon – the iconic four-bedroom main villa, two-bedroom Avalon II, and one-bedroom Avalon III – each set in beautifully landscaped gardens complete with their own private pools. Book just one villa or all three; the flexibility of bedroom configurations gives you the choice of anything from one to seven bedrooms. The villas suit a range of travellers, from honeymooners who will love the cosy one-bedroom Avalon III, to groups of friends looking forward to party in Bali.

Award-winning Balinese architect Popo Danes curated the design, crafting contemporary interiors with an Asian twist using Indonesia’s abundant natural materials – elaborately carved sandstone walls, polished teakwood floors, paras stone sun decks, marble basins and terrazzo baths. Vast living areas and individual bedroom suites are embellished with rare antique furniture, modern classic pieces and handsome Balinese paintings and artefacts. Coffee table books on Asian design and a library of interesting fiction feed the mind, while within the extensive gardens, heritage teakwood joglos, koi-filled lotus ponds with riverstone water features, moss-covered statuary and the abundance of tropical blooms and manicured bonsais feed the soul. Just outside the boundary walls, you will find a sacred shrine, the surf beyond and some of the island’s best clubs and bars.

Feeding the body is the task of the resident chef, who happily whips up Indonesian and international meals from a suggestion menu. He is one of the ‘nothing-is-too-much-trouble’ staff, dedicated to making you feel special.

With three pools, a pool table and extensive gardens, Villa Avalon is a haven you will not wish to leave. If you do manage to tear yourself away, you will find Kayu Putih Beach just beyond the villa’s entrance and facing it, some great sunset bars. Five minutes’ stroll down the beach are W Hotel and Potato Head, and other notable Seminyak establishments are just 10 minutes further (even less by taxi). The villa’s central location with access to bars, clubs, restaurants and boutiques, makes it a hit with the holiday crowd that craves proximity to all the action.
